Tasty low fAnother dish you could leave the kids to finish making. These great little falafels are ideal for lunchboxes or late night snacks, as well as a starter or picnic food.
- 1 x 400 gms - Can of Chick Peas, drained
- 1 - Onion, finely chopped
- 2 - cloves of Garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp - Ground Cumin
- 1 tsp - Ground Coriander
- 2 tsp - Garam Massala
- 1 tsp - Mild Chilli Powder
- 2 tbsp - Fresh Parsley, chopped
- ¼ tsp - Baking Powder
- Salt & Pepper
- Fry Light
- If using dried Chick peas you'll need 227 gms:
Put chick peas in a bowl, cover them with plenty of cold water and leave to sock for at least 48 hours. Drain the chick peas and then rinse well under cold running water. - Put chick peas in a food processor with the onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, garam massala, chilli and herbs. Process to a thick smooth paste.
- Add the baking powder and seasoning and stir well. Transfer to a bowl and chill in fridge for an hour.
- Take small pieces of the paste and form into small balls between your hands, then flatten out slightly.
- Arrange the Fafafel balls on a baking tray that has been sprayed with Fry light.
- Cook them in a preheated oven at 220°c 425°f GM 7. for about 12-15 minutes, until crisp and golden.
- Serve immediately.
