Beef & Bean Pasties

A great little recipe for picnic nibbles or Party treats. You can also make the pasties larger for packed lunches by only dividing the mix into 6 - Don't forget it's double the syns though..

Ingredients

  • 500 gms - Extra Lean Minced Beef
  • 2 tbsp - Worchesterhire Sauce
  • 1 tbsp - Tomato Puree
  • 1 - Medium Onion, Finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp - Fresh Parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp - Dried Thyme
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 1 x 400 gms - Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce
  • 1 - Pastry (see low fat pastry)

Method

  1. Heat oven 180°C / 350°F
  2. Put the beef mince in a bowl stir in worcs sauce, tomato puree, chopped onion, herbs and salt and pepper, and mix well.
  3. Fold in beans careful not to crush.
  4. Divide pastry into 12 pieces and roll into 3.5inch rounds.
  5. Lay a portion of filling to one side of each round brush the pastry with water andfold over and seal. Flute edges.
  6. Place on floured tray brush with beaten egg and prick each pasty with fork.
  7. Bake in oven 35 mins or until golden. Serve hot or cold.

Tip
You can add 1-2 tsp chilli powder if you prefer them spicied up a little, alternatively you could use Turkey Mince
